Brief Resume of Professional Qualifications


Dr. Bailey has been in practice since 1988, first as a lecturer in plastic surgery and full time academic surgeon at the University of Toronto. Since 1991, he has been in private practice in Newport Beach.

As an assistant Clinical Professor, Division of Plastic Surgery, University of California, Irvine, he now teaches plastic surgery part time.

Dr. Bailey's many qualifications include:

  • Diplomate (board certified), the American Board of Plastic Surgery and Fellow of the American College of Surgeons;
  • Dr. Bailey is certified in General Surgery and in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada;
  • He is an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society of Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association and the California Society of Plastic Surgeons, and past President of the Orange County Society of Plastic Surgeons.

Dr. Bailey was Senior Clinical Fellow in Craniofacial Surgery at the Mayo Clinic. He completed his Plastic Surgery residency at Northwestern University, Chicago.

Dr. Bailey received his general surgery training in Canada, and attended medical school in Manchester, England.

He has approximately 20 scientific publications and 50 scientific presentations to local, national and international plastic surgery groups to his credit. Dr. Bailey has additional expertise in microsurgery, laser, endoscopic and maxillofacial/craniofacial surgery. He has appeared on local television in Los Angeles and CBS and The Learning Channel nationally.
